Alton Girls and Ladies Weekend Roundup

29 Apr 2024

Here’s your round up from the girls & ladies fixtures this weekend.

Alton Girls

Saturday 27th April

Meerkats L v Atalanta W sports U10 (A)
The meerkats lost away to Atalanta. It was a good team performance and one in which we greatly improved since we played them earlier in the season. Sophin and Jessie put in good performances.

Pumas W v Hiltingbury L U13 (A)
A super way to end a very successful season in which the girls have progressed and developed so much. The game finished 3-0 which secured a respectable 4th place in our league. The Pumas controlled the game from start to finish with the defence proving, once again, how amazing they are as a unit. Goals from Ariana and Eliza ensured the Pumas got all three points. Well done and congratulations to the Pumas for an amazing season. 🎉🥳

Panthers 1 v Worthys Rhinos 0 U14 (A)
The Panthers travelled for their final away game of the season against Worthy’s. A heavy, hilly pitch didn’t help, but we came away with all 3 points to consolidate 3rd place in our league. A 1-0 win, secured with a goal from Daisy, with Holly M being chosen as the opposition’s girl of the game.
One more game to go, at home next weekend to Hythe & Dibden - let’s go Panthers!!

Warriors 9 v Andover NS 1 U16
They only went and won the league 🎉👏🏆🎉🤩🥳

Saturday 28th April

Bobcats v Headley U8s
For the last game of the season, the Bobcats travelled to Headley to play the Pumas. The ground was muddy and the air cold. The Pumas started quickly and went ahead before the Bobcats equalised. The game was close for a while before the Bobcats exerted their dominance, scored lots of goals and came away as winners. It was an incredible team performance with every single girl playing their part

Youth 2 v Manorcroft 7 U18s
Our last friendly of the season against a top team from the division above. The score ended 7-2 loss but for most of the game we matched them and it was a great chance for us to play with positions and experiment, todays result was never important to us. Good end to an amazing season for the Youth Team 👏
